Security: Protect Yourself from Cyber Scams
We dedicate significant efforts to protect you, but only you can act against certain risks:
- Never access your online banking through links or ads in search engines. Type ABANCA's web address directly into your browser.
- When you enter our website, make sure the security indicator appears, represented by a padlock . You will find it in your navigation bar.
- Download the app from official iOS and Android channels and sites.
- When validating an online purchase, carefully read the SMS with the one-time codes we send you and check the seller's details and the amount.
Never share your passwords

How to Access Your Online Banking Securely
Your online banking includes an enhanced security system to identify you safely.
After several consecutive failed login attempts or a long period of inactivity, your online banking will be locked. To unlock it, use the “Can’t access?” link or visit your nearest branch to request a new PIN.
We emphasize: cybercriminals impersonate courier services, online stores, public administrations, and banks too! So remember: we will never ask for your passwords. And if you have any doubts, call us.

The peace of mind of a secure network
If you believe you have been the victim of a scam:
-
If you have antivirus software installed, run a scan on your device to try to uninstall the malicious application.
-
If this does not work, you can restore your device to factory settings from ‘Settings’.
-
We recommend that you change the PIN for your bank accounts as well as your cards.
-
Additionally, you can report the incident to the National Police, the Civil Guard, or the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE).
If something happens, how will we notify you?
-
We have one of the best teams: if we detect anything unusual, we will contact you to inform you of a possible issue or to verify the authenticity of one of your transactions.
-
Remember that we will never ask you for confidential information or passwords via email, SMS, or WhatsApp. So, if you are asked for this type of information, do not respond! Someone could be trying to deceive you.
-
If something like this ever happens to you, send us an email at tuseguridad@abanca.com to help prevent possible fraud against other customers.

Do you think you left your card at home but you're not sure?
The ABANCA app gives you the option to turn your cards off and on. This way, you can easily control their use and deactivate them if you suspect you've been a victim of theft, fraud, or if you've lost your card.
I think I've lost my card, should I turn it off or block it?
