At ABANCA, we dedicate many resources to protecting your money and your data. However, we also need you to do your part and browse the internet carefully. To help you, we offer the following recommendations.
Do not share any code if you receive a phone call
At ABANCA, we will never call you to ask for a code sent to your mobile unless you have initiated an operation yourself.
One-time codes should only be entered on your online banking screen.
If someone calls you and asks for them, hang up and contact us directly.
Our security systems wouldn't be complete without your help
If you notice any unusual activity, we would appreciate it if you let us know if:
- Something happens with your purchases, cards, or accounts
- You find a website that looks like ABANCA's but isn't
- You receive notifications on your phone about logins or transactions you didn't make
- You get an email with a direct link to your online banking
Send us an email at tuseguridad@abanca.com or call us so we can check it.

Use a secure PIN
To do so, follow these recommendations.
- Do not use personal information: date of birth, phone number, ID number, etc.
- Avoid consecutive numbers and do not reuse passwords.
- Do not write down your PIN on any device, not even on paper.
- Your PIN is secret and non-transferable; do not share it with anyone.
- Update it frequently.

Adjust your online banking limits to your daily needs
Review the amounts of your usual transactions, such as money transfers, and set maximum limits. You can increase them for specific transactions if necessary.

Pay attention to fraudulent emails or calls
Here are some key signs that reveal an attempted fraud or phishing by email.
- The sender's email address does not match the company's
- You are asked to take action with maximum urgency
- The message design looks suspicious
- There are spelling or grammatical errors
- The email requests personal information
- Attachments are included

Having more than one signature to manage your regular operations is also important to reinforce your company's security. This is especially true if you regularly carry out transactions involving large amounts.
