Until now, you could finance purchases with an ABANCA card from your POS, but from now on you can do it with credit cards from any Spanish bank! Your ABANCA POS has the plazox service installed, a tool that lets you split your customers' payments without taking on any risk or cost for your business. Each customer will bear the cost according to the terms agreed with their credit card issuer.

It has never been so easy, fast, and affordable to offer financing to customers paying with credit cards, with no paperwork or intermediaries!

The best part? plazox is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And you don't have to do anything! This installment payment service, plazox, is already enabled on your POS and will only be offered to customers who have a credit card with this service previously activated by their card issuer. They can decide when and how to split their purchases.

With the plazox service, any purchase over €60 or €100 (depending on your business sector, see details below) can be split, although as a merchant, you can raise that minimum amount up to €500 depending on your business needs (and offer plazox financing, for example, for purchases over €250, or €200…). Your billing will not be affected, as you will receive the full amount of the sale in the same way as your other card sales.

Your customers, meanwhile, can choose how to split their purchases into 3, 6, 9, or 12 monthly installments, as long as each monthly payment is at least 20 euros, and the terms agreed in their credit card contract with the issuer will apply. And remember, you won't have to assume any additional cost or risk.

These are the steps your customers will follow—nothing more!

    When paying with their credit card and after entering the PIN, customers can choose to pay the full amount or split the payment.

  • Defer

    If your customer decides to split the payment, they can select on the POS the option to pay in 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.

  • What do your customers need to do to split their purchases?

    Customers only need to start the payment with their personal credit card activated by their bank for this service, enter the PIN, and follow the POS instructions. If their card has the plazox service activated, the installment options will be displayed and they can decide on the spot whether to split the payment and into how many installments.

  • What do you need to do to enable the plazox service?

    You don't have to do anything. The deferred payment service is already enabled on the POS. Customers who have a card with the plazox service enabled by their bank can already split their payments if they wish.

  • Does the customer need to do any paperwork or wait for approval?

    The customer does not need to do any paperwork, fill out forms, or wait for any additional approval. They just need to give their consent by following the POS instructions.

The minimum amount that can be split with plazox will vary depending on your business sector:

  • Minimum amount of €60 for travel agencies, hotels, passenger transport, jewelry stores, car rentals, leisure and shows, mail/phone sales, and retail.
  • Minimum amount of €100 for food and supermarkets, gas stations, pharmacies, drugstores, and restaurants.

In addition, businesses whose activity is: casinos, charity, massages and saunas, phone top-ups, low-value sectors, unattended terminals, and highways are excluded from this service.
