A bank account is the basic tool for managing your income, expenses, and savings—and much more! Because you can also use an account for other purposes. Many of our customers have a second account to better organize their money: to centralize expenses, to save for a specific goal, to share it with their partner or other family members, even with friends, or for a specific project, such as a wedding or a trip.
You can open a new account in just a few minutes, from your online banking, without needing to visit a branch, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. And if you have any questions, we’ll call you: we love talking to our customers!
Your credit and debit cards
When you open your Online Account for customers, in addition to the account, your online banking, and your debit card, we will also give you a Tú credit card. With this credit card and your mobile banking app, you can organize your expenses however it suits you best, whenever and wherever you want. All instantly and with just one click.
With the Tú Credit Card, you pay all your expenses at the end of the month. And if this month doesn't work for you, you can defer any expense you want for 3, 6, 9, 10, or 12 months, without paperwork or formalities. Plus, you can withdraw cash from an ATM using debit. Convenient, right?
Please note that the approval of any ABANCA credit card is subject to a risk assessment. If you do not meet the necessary requirements to obtain the Tú Card, you can still open your ABANCA Online Account without any problem.
The Tú Card is free for the first year, meaning no issuance fee. From the second year onwards, it can also remain free if you make purchases with your Tú Card totaling more than €3,000 per year or if you meet the requirements of the ABANCA Services Program. If you do not, the annual maintenance fee for the credit card is €43. Remember, you can cancel it whenever you want. Give it a try!
Are you under 30 years old?
If you are not yet 30, you won’t pay any fees on any of your accounts, and you’ll enjoy lots of other benefits, such as transfers from your online banking. Keep in mind that if there are several account holders, all of you must be under 30 to avoid fees on this account.
You’ll also receive a Tú NX Mastercard debit card, for which you won’t pay anything until you turn 34—no issuance or maintenance fees. You can withdraw cash with no fees at ABANCA ATMs, and outside Galicia, you can withdraw cash for free up to 5 times a month at any ATM in the Euro 6000, ING, Euronet, Banco Sabadell, Bankinter, Caja de Arquitectos, Caja de Ingenieros, Euro Automatic Cash and Banca March, and 5 more times at any ATM worldwide without us charging you a currency exchange fee. Note: abroad, some banks may charge you for using their ATM; in Spain, if you withdraw money from an ATM belonging to a different network, we’ll charge you the fee that the ATM owner charges us for the service.
What if I don't meet the requirements of the ABANCA Services Program?
If for three consecutive months you do not meet the requirements of the ABANCA Services Program, we will charge you the standard fees and fixed charges of the products you have contracted with us.
However, if you meet the requirements again, you will automatically regain all the benefits you had as a client of the level you have now recovered.
If you do not meet the requirements of the ABANCA Services Program, our Online Account has a maintenance fee of €40 per quarter. This fee is equivalent to an APR of -3.12%, which we have calculated based on the assumption that you maintain a constant daily balance of €6,000 for one year, applying a nominal interest rate (NIR) of 0.00% and the €40 quarterly maintenance fee, also taking into account the debit card maintenance fee, which is €30 per year. Please note that any balance in the account will not earn interest; for example, if the balance is €6,000, the remuneration for that amount would be €0.
And much more! Your insurance, month by month
With your ABANCA Online Account, you will have the opportunity to access our Flat Rate Insurance, which allows you to pay your life, home, health, funeral, car, and accident insurance policies marketed by ABANCA in 12 identical monthly installments, with no interest or fees (NIR 0%, APR 0%).
Here’s a representative example for paying the insurance policies included in your flat rate insurance plan, without taking into account any discounts. Suppose the total annual premium amount for all the insurance policies charged to your account is €1,500; the amount you would have to pay in each of the twelve monthly installments would be €125. Therefore, the total amount owed would be €1,500. No fees, NIR 0% APR 0%.

Questions
